Tonight I will be bartending on The Upper Floor for Nicki Blue's Deflowering. The event has been somewhat controversial, particularly because of the original press release and advertising copy. "...Prior to the event, a trained expert will insert Kink.com’s official hymen-cam to validate that Blue’s hymen is still in place and that she is a true virgin. Once her hymen is confirmed, the evening will proceed... We will start the evening by tightly binding Ms. Blue and introducing three Kink.com legends: Mark Davis, Jack Hammer and James Deen,” said Kink.com director John Paul “The Pope.” “Fans will vote for which of them will take Nikki’s virginity. Once the voting is complete, we will move to the sanctum, which will be dressed as a ritualistic chamber with candles and ceremonial tools. She’ll be placed in the circle and the winner selected by fans will deflower her. The other two will then join the ceremony and make her airtight.” The argument was words like "sacrificing Nikki’s innocence" were perpetuating myths about the vagina and particularly that it was not in line with Kink.com's mission statement to “…demystify and celebrate alternative sexualities by providing the most ethical and authentic kinky adult entertainment.” (Just reading it makes me feel kinda funny after memorizing it under a whip) Maggie Mayhem has written the most informative blog posts about it. You can find the original here and another post after the owner of Kink.com, Peter Acworth, addressed her concerns directly (which she posts in her article) and on Behind Kink. The short story is he agreed that the marketing was not in line with their mission statement and made a very diplomatic apology. All of the offending banners and copy have been adjusted with a more sex positive message.  Personally, I think it's great that Nicki Blue is finally going to live out the fantasy she has been building up to for so long and I really hope it lives up to her expectations. The male talent is awesome if girthy, poor girl, you know they're gonna vote for the Hammer. There's no way I could miss this, tonight at 7pm PST.
